Thigh Lift

What does a Thigh Lift procedure involve?

Alliance Cosmetic Center offers Thigh Lift surgery, a procedure that can reshape the thighs by removing excess skin and fat. This creates a better contoured and smooth thigh. Often, after excessive weight loss or age, the skin’s elasticity weakens and begins to sag. It can look and feel unpleasant. This thigh lift procedure can help with these problems and concerns. It is important to note that this procedure is not for the strict removal of excess fat in healthy skin. If this is your desire, please consider a less invasive liposuction or liposculpture procedure.

How long does recovery take?

Following a thigh lift procedure, medical bandages/dressings may be applied to the incisions. Depending on the surgeon and the extent of the procedure, small thin tubes may be temporarily place under the skin to help with drainage of fluid and blood. Recovery and downtime, like every surgery, will depend solely on the individual body as healing is different for every person.

Here is a general timeframe for healing and recovery and what you can expect:

  • The First Two Weeks
    • During the first 10 to 14 days, you should only engage in light activities.
    • This is a critical period for healing. Please watch out for any signs of infection and report these to your doctor immediately.
    • The pull of gravity and the actions of walking, sitting, and bending put stress on the sutured areas. Be careful. As much as possible, make careful and deliberate movements.
    • It will be helpful if you have someone staying with you for the first few days of your recovery.
  • Weeks Two to Eight
    • To optimize contouring of the thighs, you may need to wear a compression garment for the first month.
    • Swelling should subside in three to five weeks.
    • You may resume driving and walking for exercise after the first two to three weeks, when these activities do not cause pain.
    • Avoid heavy lifting and jogging for six to eight weeks.

Risks and Complications. Like all surgical procedures, a thigh lift has some degree of risk and complication. Here are some of the potential risks involved in this procedure:

  • Adverse reaction to anesthesia
  • Allergic reactions

How much is a thigh lift procedure?
